Chris started playing bass guitar at the age of 15 and joined a thriving rock covers band called Blue Merle based in St. Neots. At University he joined an acid-jazz band called Dig The New Breed followed by another covers band called The Lollipop Guild.
On leaving University Chris moved to Crawley in West Sussex and during a freak conversation at work, he found himself agreeing to play bass guitar for a pantomime in Southwater. This was where he first met No Jacket Required guitarist Vic Chase. Chris and Vic got talking and Vic's covers band found a new lease of life as Under the Covers. The covers band played to adoring fans for about 4 years before the drummer (Graham Goacher) had the idea for the Phil Collins project.
During his spare time, Chris plays Bass Guitar regularly for a number of semi-professional amateur dramatic societies including the Epsom Players, Horsham Amateur Opera and Drama Society and the Staines Light Opera.
